Decent oven gloves that are thick enough to actually do any good. The last couple of sets are so thin that they are totally useless.

Erm. Would be nice if they were pretty too, but not essential.

I know, I know. Totally boring thread.

Lakeland ones tend to be pretty good.

Had a look at Lakeland, thanks. Might order them there. Not particularly pretty, but seem to be good.

Get the Lakeland rubbery gauntlets - they may not be pretty, but are uber effective and you can spill hot liquids on them and not notice

I've found the Lakeland heavy duty oven gloves very good - they're very effective, last well (I've had them for years) and don't look too bad.

Not at all pretty but I have these and they are great.
I'm happy for DD to use them too as they stay on with the fingers.

Kevlar sounds good. Even DH would use them as it sounds so manly.
