Anyone painted over bathroom lino?

Hi,

I have been googling information for this and there are lots of websites saying it is possible but no details about which brands of paint and primer.
It is for a very old bathroom floor - it is proper thick 'old linoleum' - like they used to have in school toilets way back when! Its not the usual modern vinyl that comes in rolls.
It is to tart up a house to sell it so not too worried about it lasting years and years!
Also any ideas on colours. I somehow can't picture a plain colour.

I really wouldn't bother - just lay some new vinyl (tiles or sheet) on top. You can get primer for difficult surfaces which might work but tbh if I was a buyer I would immediately be thinking that I would have to buy new flooring before I even move in.

You can buy vinyl tiles really cheaply, they are easy to fit, sticky-backed, easy to cut. I have put them down a couple of times, no bother.

thanks - I was kind of thinking that might be the answer but was looking for a way to avoid all that cutting round sink, toilet etc!
