Where to get really cool cushions?

mistressploppy · 19/06/2010 21:02

I have had my sofa re-upholstered in a lovely slubby, faded dusty pink linen. I want some funky cushions to put on it to clash and funk it up a bit - unless it's 'dressed' properly it could look old ladyish instead of cool retro......

Can anyone recommend a cool cushion website emporium?

Best to find exactly the fabric(s) you want and have covers made up really. Do get feather cushion pads though, they always sit so much better.

dunelm mill does millions lots!

DrivenToDistraction · 19/06/2010 21:05

Sit better both on the sofa and under the body

How much did it cost to get your sofa reupholstered if you don't mind me asking, mistressploppy?

I have a sofa which needs it and don't know where to start...

Great retro cushions on ebay

mistressploppy · 19/06/2010 21:22

Tether - it was a family chum but his estimate (before mates' rates!) was £850 (fixed cover, new foam seat cushions, new fibre back cushions and feather scatter cushions x 2, armcaps)

Thanks for brilliant link, will get spending

Have a look on Folksy or Notonthehighstreet to get something a bit different and unique (and good prices).

LittleFriendSusan · 19/06/2010 23:26

TK Maxx often have nice cushions

fairybubbles · 20/06/2010 08:03

agree with littlefriendsusan re TK Maxx, my mum got some lovely pink feather ones there recently for £8 each. They are really nice and look much more expensive.

They look better quality than my Next ones, which fell apart at the seams after one wash!

i do love tk maxx though, i spent a small fortune there last month

brimfull · 20/06/2010 08:59

this would look fabwith pink

brimfull · 20/06/2010 09:01

these also nice
I love cushions

The Conran Shop has great ones but can be a biT pricey. It's website is good to look on for ideas though if it's above your budget.

seeker · 20/06/2010 09:16

Oohh - I saw the coolest cushions in the word and posted on here about them - I'll see if I can find the link.

mistressploppy · 20/06/2010 09:25

Ooh, nannyj, I like PARIS TOKYO BLEU! Might have to get me one of those....

CrankyTwanky · 21/06/2010 22:51

Have you had a look downstairs in The Hambledon, or in their furniture shop behind?

Good for inspiration, if not actually purchacing.

mistressploppy · 22/06/2010 20:11

Good idea, Cranky

kateko · 09/01/2011 21:04

maybe some cushions here that would look quite contrasting and funky, the snow flake one is quite retro.
