What does rinse / wash with cold clean water mean?

Does it mean no detergent?

I've just bought the kids swimwear for the holiday (bodywarmer, sunsuits) and they all seem to say this on the label.

I think it means handwash with cold water, but OK to use detergent, but I just wondered what others thought first.

Even the swimming nappy says it. Surely I'll need detergent for that on holiday if they've pooed?

Thanks

I would guess that detergent is ok if you want. I think "clean" water is just meant to mean not the swimming pool or sea water, in case anyone thinks they don't have to wash it because it's already wet?

think it means rinse after use so not left with with sea or pool chemicals on

thought so - thanks for posting!
