Vaccum bags never stay small, any tips?

I have been using vaccum bags for years but they never stay small. On a sky advert I seen them put the bags in a plastic box once all the air is out. Do you think that would work? Or any other ideas?

Are they the branded space bag, or unbranded. I had both, the space bags have stayed shrunk for 4 years now, and the others I have to keep re-doing.
Can't see how box would help, maybe tie them once shrunk??

If the more expensive ones aren't staying small then you need to spend longer sealing the tops, using the special clips they provide.

The cheaper pound-shop type ones don't have such good seals at the valve where you suck the air from and I find that they won't stay small, but (I'm hoping) they still keep the clothes clean and protected from dust, moisture, bugs etc...

ambriel - what do you mean by branded?

I bought some from argos and some from the pound shop.

Please let me know where you got yours from if they stayed small for 4 years? I need them now...

Can anyone recommend a good brand that actually works? I love the idea of them but they never work for me.
