new washing machine recomendations

ok so my washing machine is now hanging a by a thread....i want a new one before it packs up completely.

i would like one that is big enough to fit a single duvet in is 7kg big enough?

are there any brands to avoid or likewise any that seem to be the best?

any help appreciated

Mines an AEG that was bouyght in 1993. It's had a couple of minor-ish repairs (minor enough that DP did them!) and is still going strong. However lots of folks on here have had problems with the more recent AEG models, notably since they merged with Electrolux. I think my advice would be to buy something German - Miele for instance, if you want it to last a good long while.
