chocolate ice cream stains

i've checked previous threads on this topic and discovered washing up liquid (i knew i should have listened to my mother ) and possibly Tesco budget stain remover are the only ones that have managed to remove choc ice cream!

thought i'd see if there were any new revelations for 2010 as i've just discovered 3 lovely t-shirts that DC1 was wearing when eating said ice cream! one is hidesously expensive that silly DH bought for him!! so i've promised him i'd ask the Mumsnet Powers that Be and see what you all come up with.

TIA

thanks herbietea, did you use it on stained clothing within a short time of it becoming stained or is it possible it will get stains out that have been there for a while?

thanks again.

I use hot water and white soap, scrub under the tap and then chuck in washing machine. If it has already been washed you could have a go, it's worked for me in the past.

This works on pretty much everything - I was taught it by my mother the first time I failed to count my days correctly... [TMI emoticon] it's a PITA though.

Be careful when using warm/hot water as that normally cooks the stain in.
