Very boring I know but please tell me how to clean dirty collar and cuffs on white school shirts

I'm soaking them in all sorts. Have tried various whiteners/stain removers. They don't work
Soo please anyone what do you use on ingrained dirt on white shirts? ( desperate emoticon) TIA

I use a Vanish stick and find that it does a pretty good job - not perfect but quite acceptable. I do leave it on for about 15 mins before washing though.

I remember my Mum rubbing Vanish on over a dozen school/work shirts every weekend for years, the lucky lady

I use white vinegar to soak overnight in VERY hot water that takes out all greasy stains.
