Help - bed bugs/ezcema/8 month old....

Hello,

Arghhhhhh I've got bed bugs (urgh, urgh, urgh) - so far I've only found them in my 8 month old son's nursery (we have a spare bed in there which I climb into at night to feed him - well of course USED to). He has really bad ezcema, and of course I need to get in the exterminators but I'm worried how the chemicals will affect his ezcema (he seems to be allergic to everything).

Has anyone had in exterminators with a child who has ezcema?
Are Rentokil the best, or should I just use the local council pest control?

Thanks a lot, yukyukyuk xx

Do you know for sure that they are definitely bed bugs? If they are the I would call rentokil as soon as you can. My cousin had bed bugs...they were nasty little things worth getting rid of before the sperad to other rooms in the house. She had quite nasty bites...sorry, not much help but I hope you manage to get rid of them soon.

Thanks - yes they are bed bugs - I have caught one which is fully grown, and found one that had just hatched on the mattress. Yes I think I will get Rentokil in asap - they are a lot more expensive but they do the whole house (and come back once a week for 4 weeks I think, whereas the council just come once).

Urgh it's so depressing - especially as I got them from my mum's house (I'm 99.9% sure as the last 3 times I've stayed there I've come back with bites, only this time they've kept on biting - probably hitched a lift in my luggage), but she can't see any evidence of them (apparently up to 50% of people with bites have no symptoms) so isn't doing anything about it. She is terminally ill with cancer so I really want to go and see her (she lives far away) but I can't go until she sorts this problem out!

oh well - at least Eurovision cheered me up tonight

Hi - just thought I'd give an update - it turned out I didn't have bed bugs after all! I was being 'bitten' wherever I went (inc. away from the house) so I went back to the doctor and he said it could be a skin infection.

I took a course of antibiotics (and so did the baby) and the 'bites' disappeared. I was pretty annoyed with Rentokil as just based on the 'bites' he convinced me it was bed bugs. Thank goodness I didn't get them in to spray the house. The little bug I found could have been anything.
