Can I get a yellowish garment back to white again?

It's my white cardigan, I wore it for half an hour and got a spot of tomatoe sauce on it.
I treated it straight away with Vanish and put it outside to dry (after rinsing it).
It was really sunny and there was a yellowish stain on it after that.
So I had the bad idea to put it in bleach and water. But I left it too long and the whole sleeve is now yellowish.
Is it over?
Can it ever go back to white and if so how?
Can I dye it a different colour (I've never done that before.)

What's it made off? Try some bleach and salt if a natural fibre?

100% cotton I think. More bleach? I'm scared now.

Only a bit of bleach. Not sure it'll help now but using salt fixes the original colour. Not sure you can rectify when it's yellow?? Wash it with something blue?

Try using a solution of soda crystals? I've 'dyed' a sleeve yellow before, so know what its like!

Great, is that soda crystals and hot water?

Ascorbic acid (aka Vitamin C) crystals

I usually use cold water with the soda crystals.
