Please tell me the best carpet cleaner solution you have come across.

We have moved into a house with stained stair carpets. Just wondered if you can recommend a good carpet stain remover.

I needed to remove a sticky mark from our carpet, was in Sainsbos so picked up some of their own brand carpet cleaner.

I was amazed that it actually worked, really well, stain gone. I don't know whether it's me being cynical or if everything is usually shit but I was genuinely surprised and pleased that it worked.

It's in a purpley bottle, about £2.50 ish.

Is it to use in a shampooer machine thingy? If so a friend at work highly recommends Star Drops. If it's just to spray onto individual stains, I have used the Sainsbury's own brand carpet cleaner too and found it pretty effective. I would buy it again.

We just use that ACE cleaner in the greeny bottle, it's brilliant at getting rid of stains.
