Stooooopid white worktop, curry stains and a house inspection - HELP!

Title says it all really! Our rented house has a lovely kitchen but a really STOOOPID white worktop. I wipe it and wipe it and wipe it but it gets stained quite easily. The stains normally fade after a while, so I wasn't too worried, but the lettings agents are coming on Tuesday and DP/DBIL have managed to leave takeaway curry on the surface and there are yellow saffron stains everywhere.

How do I get rid of them before Tues? Would bleach do it, or is that a really bad idea? And more generally, how does one keep a white worktop clean? It's made of some kind of plasticy/vinyly stuff, I can't think of the right word for it.

Bleach - flash spray with bleach if you are scared.

that astonish stuff you get from the pound shop (like putty bleach) is v good for this

Bleach should do it - our worktops get curried regularly - bleach always shifts it. Sometimes you have to leave it on a bit to soak and really work on the stains.

I used to have the same worktops.

A little bit of bleach or flash with bleach will get them back to sparkly.

I have the earlier version of this from Lakeland - works like magic on tea stains on my work surfaces! I can really recommend it.

ooooh, thank you for responding to my very dull domestic query on a Friday night! Will order the Lakeland thingy for the long term, and get the bleach out for the short term letting agent inspection problem.

A paste of bicarbonate of soda and water works really well on curry stains on my worktops.
