Right, I'm gutting my house today, where to start?

The house is in a right mess and I don't know where to start. Please help me draw up a list and tips to keep me going.

I love organising everyone else!

Put a washload on
Do washing up/load dishy
Wipe kitchen sides
Sweep kitchen
Put kettle on for a cuppa
Go around the house with a laundry basket and pick up random pieces of washing
Do the same for newspapers/recycling etc
Have cup of tea

I seem more motivated when the kitchen is clear and all the machines are running

Tip 1: turn off pc

tip 2: crank up the cheesy music

tip 3: kitchen first, then bathroom

tip 4: rope kids and dp if you have one to Hoover and polish the rest of it

tip 5: wine and relax in clean surroundings

how did you get on lumps??

i did the same today, my house was sooo disgusting. i got all of downstairs done (that feels so good to be able to say that) and have to just gut my room and then general (normal) cleaning on the rest of upstairs. it really feels so much better to sit in a clean tidy living room.

it helped alot that dcs were at gran's today for a few hours.
