we live in rented accomodation so a normal sized and installed dishwasher is not an option. dh does all the dishes at the moment but we were thinking of a tabletop mashine to help.
are they useful? do they need a lot of energy/water?

we had one, it was OK but obviously they are quite small. Held more than we'd realise though. Don't remember being particularly at water/energy bills after we'd installed it

I had a small Bosch one for around 15 years and it was great.I only got rid of it as we were moving house where there was already a built-in one (gave it away on Freecycle so hopefully still going strong!) Mine didn't dry and only had 3 programmes so didn't use that much energy as far as I recall. Tended to wash larger things like saucepans in the sink though to make sure everything else fitted.

I had one when I lived in a small flat. Best thing ever, made all the differance in my opinion. Mine was Zanussi, and I don't think it made much difference to my electric bill and if so it was worth every penny!
