I Want to make pickled vegetables and have saved a few jarres for it. Just realised that some of them have a plastic top (Big Nutella jarre type, screwed on but plasic) can I go ahead and use them or is it better to have the metallic top ones. Does it actually make a difference to the amount of time I can keep the preserves before eating them or none at all?
