Proper folding - a revelation!

Sorry if this is very obvious common sense to everyone else, but it's made a big difference to me so thought I would share. I don't have much hanging space so have to keep most of my clothes in drawers. I used to find it a real nuisance seeing what was in each drawer and getting things out from the bottom without unfolding everything on top. This used to result in piles of clothes lying around waiting to be refolded.

I came across this video on Youtube which has really helped. I now put clothes in my drawers standing up vertically which makes it so much easier to see what's in there and means that I can take things out without disturbing everything else. The woman is a little scary but there's some good advice.

No, rolled towels...

drloves8 · 28/04/2010 23:06

its so much easier than hunting for sheets or the right pillowcase to match the set -especially at 3 am when you have to strip and change beds because the dc are sick/we `ed the beds ect.
dont understand why more people dont tbh.

MrsTicklemouse · 28/04/2010 23:06

I love that women, tomorrow will be spent making my drawers pretty

towels should be folded anthea turner stylee

drloves8 · 28/04/2010 23:08

nope , trust me , you roll towel for putting into suitcases. you can put shoes/breakables in the middle and roll around them. but dont for storing at home.it just doesnt look nice.

drloves8 · 28/04/2010 23:09

DreamTeamGirl · 28/04/2010 23:10

LowLevelWhinging · 28/04/2010 23:18

That is ACE!

"let's fold a thong"

Not something I've ever needed to say but I kind of wish I wore em now

NathanBarley · 28/04/2010 23:27

Yes fold your thong up all nicely, as soon as you look away SPANG! It's unravelled and twisted itself around one of dc's socks

ThisIsSpatchcocked · 29/04/2010 11:19

in a mad fit of pregnancy induced madness(and trying to hide from the other kids..I have to admit to emptying and re folding my jumpers and tshirts this morning!!

Downdog · 29/04/2010 11:23

drloves8 your idea to put bedset inside pillowcase is blindingly simple yet revolutionary & marvellous.

Just the kind of tip I lurk on these boards for.

thanking you

drloves8 · 29/04/2010 21:35

downdog id lve to claim credit for that one , but someone else told me about that too.

froggy901 · 29/04/2010 22:06

Never thought I'd ever watch a video on how to fold a thong... interesting watch though.

Thankfully, I don't have the problem drawers cause when clothes are stacked vertically - I have some of those wooden shelves with the canvas covers, so all is visible. Even better, if I can't be bothered to put things in nicely, I can just roll down the cover and no one knows :D

Nettiespagetti · 30/04/2010 21:27

I'm a bit late to this thread but I kinda think you are all bonkers! I would love to attempt these but i don't currently have hanging rail never mind drawers!!

BooKangerooWonders · 01/05/2010 07:08

I'm so that I watched in fascination , then went back and watched part of it again!

But really so that I had the sound really low and am checking that dh isn't lurking behind me!!!

But I LOVE this kind of thing - more please!

notnearlyasblondasiwas · 01/05/2010 07:47

Is it bad that I want my drawers all lovely and organised - I am such a bad housekeeper - I aspire to nice drawers
