I've put the cooker on warm. Will it be ok if I now put it on high for 4 hours?

Please! I have 3 boys due back from a weekend away this evening and will need food at the ready. Should I sling the chicken in the bin and cook something else?

Personally I would get it in the oven...

Why throw it away?

Not sure if turning it up to high now will cook it in time, assuming that you want to serve it fairly soon, so I'd put it into the oven and continue the cooking that way - if it's a roast, it normally takes about 90 minutes for a chicken that serves 4, and if it's a casserole then an hour should be fine.

It will def be fine after 4hrs, that's how long I normally do a slow cooker chicken for. As it's already been on warm for a while it probably won't need that long.

Depends how hungry you are, bung it in the oven if you're starving!

Thank you! I think i'm panicing because I put a raw chicken on warm for 2 hours...and am thinking I might make the boys ill! Even though I stuck it on High as soon as I noticed. They won't be back until later this evening, and not knowing what they have/haven't eaten, thought a chuck will do the job with salad or butties etc. So do you think it'll be safe?

So do you think i'll be safe to eat, as it started cooking just on Warm?

I would turn it up to high now and then whack it in the oven at 190 for half an hour.
