Which slow cooker?

I've never had a slow cooker before but I know many other MN are veteran users.
It doesn't need to be a large size mainly meals for 2 small DC and I. And Ideally not too expensive.
Which slow cooker would you get?
Is there an extra feature worth paying extra for?
Are the cheap supermarket ones any good or are they a case of you get what you pay for?

I bought the cheapest one argos did and am finding its going strong 2 years later.I wanted to see if I would get on with it before I invested in a good one.
ended up getting on with it and never buying a better one. It has 2 settings low and high and does its job well not fancy though!

i had a swan one given to me 20 years ago - think it was about £20 at the time and still works fine. you need a removal pot and i have low/high/auto settings. think its about 3.5 litres which is fine for family of 5.

We too use a hand me down - nothing fancy, just has a low and high setting. It's fab - there's nothing better than coming home in the evening in the knowledge that there's a lovely stew waiting for you.

The only comment I would make is that the larger oval ones can fit a whole chicken in, which can be useful. When ours breaks I'll get one of those.
