Just moved in to the area and within 4 weeks my kettle nearly blew up due to thick limescale, the dishwasher is not washing, my washing machine drawer no longer seems to have a water flow to it and every BLOODY surface has water droplet marks on it - every drinks glass, window, shower door etc etc.

Its driving me mad!

I an no domestic goddess, but can't live like a limescaly slattern for much longer

Any recommendations for how to cope?!

You can use citric acid or even white vinegar in the washing machine with your clothes which should help soften the water and not irritate your sons skin. You can also buy these magnet things to put in the washing machine and dishwasher to somehow soften the water. Lakeland sell them but I've not tried them out. I really should

Thanks everyone! You are so right re the cup of tea- so much scum it makes me cry

fivegomadindorset- sounds like we could be battling the same delightful water! Beautiful landscape, but water supply is challenging

this a serious crash course in domestic goddessness, I realise I have had an easy time of it until now!
