electric Rangemaster - Elan or Classic ???

i am buying an electric range and toying between Rangemaster Classic and Rangemaster Elan - do you have any experience of either??? Best/worst features???

could you explain how induction is better than ceramic? we still have very old fashioned solid plates so both seem very modern!
