Dyson vs Miele and has anyone got the new Dyson compact hoover?

Any good?

We have an Electrolux bagless cylinder type hoover atm..its very efficient and I love the suction power. However, after just one hoovering session, the circular cylinder in the hoover needs to be taken out, emptied and very often washed and left to dry - we have two filter cylinders and have to rotate the two and its a total pita..its not even as if my house is that dusty as no pets and laminate downstairs!

I have an old Dyson and I wouldn't buy another. I long for it to break down properly so I can warrant buying a Miele.

I want a miele.I have looked at loads of reviews and mieles always seem best. Just looking for a good offer now.

My Miele cylinder is inherited from my Gran so at least 5 years old, probably more. It is FABULOUS! When I moved house, Mum lent me her upright Dyson and it was pants - heavy, hard to manouvre, poor suction. My little cylinder beat it hands down every time and in every way. Everyone I know who owns a Miele cylinder raves about it in a slightly freaky way.
