Moths?? HELP!!

Now this has got to be possibly the most boring first thread ever - apologies

My clothes (and Dd's - but not DH's, what does that say about him?!) seem to be gaining little holes around the tummy area.
I thought it may be the washing machine but can't find anything sticking out that would catch the clothes like this and it always seems to be in the same place too.
I've never experienced moth holes before but could it be that? If so, how on earth can I get rid of them? Do moth balls still exist? If so, what do you do with them??

Sorry for barrage of very boring questions but shortly myself and Dd's will be wandering around in the buff - Dh, however, will eb fine

Fluff - yep, always wednesdays

Thanks for all your advice ladies, it is just so perplexing! (The holes, not your advice!)

Downdog - it does seem to be my things that are made of jersey or a fine knit so that seems another vote for the 'pulling / catching' theory. I am now going to wrack my brains to see if I can think of where I may be catching things. Don't sit at a desk....could be kitchen sink?!!

Kitchen sink - good call.

Does your OH work at a desk?

Do you wear jeans lots?

DottyDash · 29/04/2010 13:22

Nope, no desk jobs here!!

I do tend to wear jeans a lot yes, so suppose it could be the flies / buttons?

I have this on a few of my cotton tops, exactly where the jeans fly is and I think I have finally worked out which pair of jeans is the culprit. I bought a brand new cotton top and wore it once or twice in a row. It never even made it into the wardrobe before it got a hole in it where my fly is. GRRR!
I love these jeans.

I thought it might have been my watch initially, but ruled that out.

I also thought it might be the velcro on DS's shoes (he's 18 months and I carry him on my hip) but then surely it would be at the back of my tops as well.

No, I am sure it is the jeans.

oi dotty, i was thinking if you didnt work weds and you cld do wed and thurs you cld pick spod up and bring her here for me. id give you the £20 the taxi cost. as i dont drive i dont know petrol prices so dont know whether that would be worth your while or not. And not like all the time or written in stone but just if you were around.

IAteABetaDadsBreadstick · 29/04/2010 15:33

sorry, meant costs me £10 each day in taxis, you aint getting £40 out of me

sorry for hijack, get back to your moths

DottyDash · 29/04/2010 16:28

Your name changing is confusing me Fluff!!
Wednesdays I'd be no good to you as don't get back home till 6 and have Roo with me gagging for her tea too!!
Thursdays would sometimes be ok but it would depend on if DH had the car and was in the office - Thursdays is his day of choice!!
All in all that's pretty useless isn't it?!
