My trusty but ancient Bosch has finally given up the ghost.

Can anyone reccomend a decent washing machine that can stand up to doing at least a daily wash.(dd has sn and some continence issues so my washer takes some hammering)

TIA

another Bosch?

Mine is a couple of years old now so I don't think the model exists any more but I'd think a fairly basic Bosch is your best combination of good price & reliability.

Thanks LOL

i was wondering about Miele too, they are supposed to be good.

Wanders off to google washing machines (boring emoticon)

I bought a Panasonic one- about £529 from John Lewis- has a very quiet drum.
On about 3 times a day and it's fab. 5 year free guarantee too

lg
I love mine
I've been saying its 8 years but realised it s actually 10 years and still going strong

Bosch.....I've always gone for bosch and never had any problems
but I recently bought AEG as I got a good deal with my kitchen - I really like it as it has silent system so you can hardly hear it spin, I can change the spin from really fast to slow which I like.

I boought a Miele last year as I do tons of washing and it uses half the amount of water as the others and came with a 6 yr warranty - it is fab !

DarrellRivers · 18/04/2010 11:50

Entry level Miele
Washing machine fitter was very complimentary and said there were v few Miele and Bosches in washing machine heaven

DorotheaPlenticlew · 18/04/2010 11:51

We have a new Miele and it is wonderful.

I always find myself posting the same thing on these threads 'cos it really helped us choose ... sign up to Which? for the free trial and read all their reviews. Highly reassuring and sorts wheat from chaff more specifically than simply recommending one brand.

I replaced a Bosch with a Bosch earlier this year. Looked at the Mieles but they are twice the price.

emsyj · 18/04/2010 15:18

Miele miele miele - we got a 10 year guarantee with ours. FIL & MIL have a Bosch and they like it and it's lasted a long time, but it is a lot noisier than our Miele and their washing comes out wetter so I don't think their spin is as powerful. Our Miele is the most basic one we could get.

i replaced mine with a bosch last month.

i would have gone for miele except their 10 year warranty isn't available in Northern ireland, and i couldn't help feeling that the expense without the warranty couldn't be justified so went for bosch and a 2 year warranty.

OH and i now have a bet on that it will go 3 years without breaking (i think it will last, he thinks it wont) MNetters helped covince me that it was one of the best so if i lose £100 i blame MN!!

hillbilly · 21/04/2010 14:44

Miele. Supposed to last 20 years.

CMOTdibbler · 21/04/2010 14:46

Miele - always come out very high in the Which tests, and ours is excellent

Miggsie · 21/04/2010 14:48

I got a Siemens as they were doing a 5 year guarantee.

I am very happy with it.
Fast washes, stain select...the dispenser tray is sprayed continuously with water so it never gets mould in it.

Oh, and when the wash is done a little light comes on in the drum so you can get your washing out and see that one black sock that always used to get left behind.

I had a Bosch for years but my new machine is better.

It also is a 7kg load and quieter!
