3917 washes in 8 years

Had the dyson engineer out on Friday and his computer diagnostic thingy could tell that my washing machine had done 3917 washes in almost 8 years (10 days short of 8 years).
Anyone else know how many washes their machine has done?

And I've done six since then so it's now 3923

On that basis mine should be about 13000.

ASecretLemonadeDrinker · 13/04/2010 18:39

That's more than one a day! Goodness me - what machine have you got? (no idea for me)

NoahAndTheWhale · 13/04/2010 18:46

No idea but do about 4 washes a week I think. However used to be only 2 a week before children. So in the last 10 years there have been 3 years and 7 months before children and 6 years and 5 months with. The 4 years and 3 months is 52x2x3 for the 3 years and ((522)/12)x7 for the 7 months so 312+61= 373. For the 6 years it is 52x4x6 = 1248 and the 5 months is ((52x4)/12)x5 = 87 so 1335* post children. Altogether that is 1708.

NB obviously not entirely accurate

NoahAndTheWhale · 13/04/2010 18:47

Bother. Have seen OP did 8 years not 10 years

Only need to remove 2 years of the first part which is 52x2x2 which is 208 so in 8 years it is 1500. What a nice round number

That is sooo cool! What an awesome little gadget I want one!!! We JUST bought ours so technically I could start counting now, but am sure I would lose count eventually, but would be a good random statistic to throw into conversations at parties!!! (hence why Iw ant one on=f those nifty gadgets)

Onlyaphase · 13/04/2010 18:53

Mine has done 4500 in 9 years. The engineer says some have done 10,000 or 12,000 washes in that time

HarveysFurniture · 16/04/2010 07:52

Oh my word, I'm shocked. My machine won't tell me but I'm intrigued now, surely I can't have spent that much time doing washing, my least favourite household chore. Liz

Wow, I wonder how accurate it is?

I was feeling grateful the other day that our machine has lasted about 6 years...or is it 7,8...not sure. It's a Hoover.

Mum has got through about 5 in that time! She got a load of rubbish ones, Jackson, that kind of stuff,. I told her not to.

I know the age of mine cos it was bought after ds3 was born and he's just turned 8. And my dh writes the purchase date on the the back of a new appliance for some reason unbeknownst to me
