Linen napkins, anyone use them?

I'm thinking about buying some proper linen napkins.

Does anyone have any tips on where I should buy them from, what sort of price they should cost, how they should be laundered etc.?

Grateful for any tips.

Sounds odd, but try local auction house, if you want really good quality, heirloom linen. It's shameful, how much just gets sold off cheaply.

Or get them in charity shops. I will say though that my linen napkins are folded in the chest of drawers in favour of thick paper ones. ' cos they are a lot of trouble;they need bio soaking and very hot washing AND ironing! after each use. I put them out and my guests were so conscious of them they didn't use them!!

Which is good and bad!!

You might get some in White Company sale. I got some lovely large white (obviously) ones from there. We only use them on high days and holidays but I'm not sure why as TBH they are no more difficult than ordinary napkins to launder and iron.
There is also a lovely online company that sells French linen and did natural/stone coloured ones but I can't remember their name. Will look them up and post later.

Ok, have looked at white company & they only have linen/cotton mix and are a bit expensive for that. Cabane was the company I was thinking of for the French linen and they seem to have disappeared/gone bust since I used them a few years ago. So I've not really been much help at all, sorry
Try searching online for an idea of prices for new.

Yes try ebay
Laundered on hot with some starch
That's a shame about Cabane, I worked with the girl who set it up for a while.
