Any good suggestions as where to get one?

Does anyone know if we need a plumber to install it?

Whey do some of the prices vary so much- ie- what constitutes a good fridge-freezer?

Hi Tiger, I bought on from an online company. I think they were called whitebox, or something like that.

We have a samsung one. Love it to bits, had it since August last year.

One thing we noticed was that if you have a ice maker it takes up an awful lot of space from the freezer department and if you have one of those you also need to have it plumbed in. We went for a water chiller, as that is far more space saving (on the fridge side, too) and does not need to be plumbed. I just fill up the water bit each evening.

It is worth choosing the fridge you like and doing a google search for the best price. Also go on Amazon site and wade through the reviews of the fridge you have chosen. When we did this we changed our mind after reviews were not too good, and settled on the samsung.

Love it, love it, love it. Just wish we could have had one years ago!

We also have got a samsung one. It has got a connection to the water and needed a bit if plumbing but we have had the whole kitchen done so it wasn't too tricky.

Do check prices online as PositiveAttiude says - ours was over £300 cheaper than the high street - plus there was a quidco cashback too!

Also they are big units- we hadn't taken into account that they are deeper than 'normal' fridges- oh hum!

Overall having only had it a week we like it!!

We have the Samsung but without the water or ice dispenser (it has a nifty ice tray inside instead). Both ice cube and water disepnser take up loads of space that we wanted to fill with food!
And because we didn't have a water dispenser we didn't need it installing by a plumber.

we got a daewoo one in the Jan sale from Currys - about £450. Again, I didn't want the internal space taken up with ice makers etc so this is just a big fridge/freezer and didn't need plumbing in. it's great, loads of capacity and not at all noisy.

ive got a samsung one and we got it from Comet. this is my second - i left the first one when we moved house, they have come down in price loads. mine was about £700 3 years ago.
i love mine. kids love the ice and water facility, so do i.

its a quick easy plumbing job. we didnt need a plumber.

the ice maker does use a lot of space in the freezer but this hasnt bothered me - i use more fresh than frozen and i love the space the fridge has.
