Especially one that is light and small. Am I asking too much? I want one that is easy to whisk out and use rather than lugging my heavy one out of the cupboard and heaving it about. I thought I could leave a stand up one behind the kitchen door for easy access.

Love my Sebo. Don't know how it compares on size and weight, however. Quite slim, I would say. Certainly compared with a Dyson, for instance.

I like my Bissell; great value for money but the model I have isn't especially light. Maybe there is a smaller one in their range. We had a couple of Dysons before and I prefer the Bissell and it was about a quarter of the price. Have you looked on one of the review sites like reevoo? Vax uprights get good reviews and they do a really light model called the Vax Mach Air. HTH

If it's for a quick once-over a Roomba might be the way to go. I don't have one but people here (and on the Lakeland site) rave about them.

I have a Dyson Rollerball and love it. The cylinder where the dust etc collects is quite small though so would have to be emptied after every 5 uses rather than every 10. Fantastic hoover though, very light to carry around, it does all the corners easily and is quite small to store.

Dyson rollerball, I have the smaller one it's perfect, not too bulky handle goes down to the cylinder so fits into cupboards well even if there is a shelf above.
