God this is a boring question - sorry! But I have some nice new towels and I want to stop them getting all mangy for as long as poss!

I love new towels - and new bed linen. My DH has to keep me away from Dunelm and any linen department in big shops or I'd have every room full of them

I've always been told to put no/the bare minimum of fabric softner in the wash with them as it can apparently stop them being as absorbent.

Once they come off the lines/clothes horse I give them a quick tumble-dry to fluff them up. Works a treat but isn't very green

Hot wash
No fab conditioner
Tumble dry

I do the same as cakeywakey! Also I put in a couple of those plastic tumble dryer balls - they seem to fluff the towels up a treat
