Tell me I can wash this dress, it can't be dry clean only, surely!

Bought a simple plain black shift dress from Gap. I think I look elegant and effortless in it, I probably look like a pig in a sack, but who cares

Anyway, label says dry clean only - surely not?! It's 95% viscose, 5% nylon, and is a really ordinary daytime dress, they can't seriously mean I have to traipse it to the dry cleaners every time DS2 snots on it, do I?

Is this a case of them not forking out for laundry testing, or can I really not wash it?

I'd wash it, delicates, gentle spin, maybe in a pillowcase too to prevent snagging

I like it! Not sure DP is so keen on me rocking the loose flowing look, but it hides a multitude of wobbles.....

You're right, I'll try it on a delicates cycle and see what happens.

Keep the temp low as poss

Cold, or 30, do you reckon? I would do cold but it never seems to get snot out, and DS2 is in that lovely wiping snot on you every time you pick him up stage

Think my machine's delicates cycle is as good as handwash, to be honest, it's a lovely Bosch machine.

If you've got a handwash cycle on your machine (def cold) that'd do it.

I have a shameful laundry fetish, and used to work in a laundrette.

Just rub some vanish soap on any nasty stains before you put it through.

I machine wash practically anything! Uggs, trainers even football boots with moulded studs. Just about anything except heavily beaded or sequinned items or structured jackets.
