Ignore the ad-men please let us all know what products actually work.

Here are my finds.

HG Mould Remover for the bathroom. I followed the instructions and was amazed that mould actually disappeared. here

Henry Hoover. Not only do the DS love him, I have had mine for 13 years and he is still going strong. Bless him.

Sat Nat, I used to be a really nervy driver as I was worried about where I was going. Not any more.

Tumble Drier balls. Not sure about the science of why they work but they seem to reduce the drying time by about a quarter.

So come please share your amazing finds. If you see this article in the Evening Standard I expect a mention.

E-cloths

Not so much a product, more of a tip - I started using half the recommended quantity of washing powder, and my washing is cleaner, fresher and smells nicer for longer. No idea how that works. I got the idea from the washable nappy advice about using a quarter of the recommended amount of detergent, so just by way of experiment I reduced the powder for all my normal washing and it's brilliant.

Vanish Carpet Cleaner

Soap nuts - I was sceptical at first but they are great. Also like Bio-D for multi purpose cleaner - floors, cars, windows, bathrooms - all shining and with a really fresh scent. Its inexpensive and comes concentrated so a bottle lasts forever - pretty much like the soap nuts.

Method shower spray. Keep it in the cubicle, spray all over screen after every other shower you will never have to clean your shower screen

Bar keepers friend gets marks and scratches off sinks

That white sponge stuff - I think it's one of those JML wonder-products. Might be called "Magic Eraser".

Anyway, it's bloody marvellous. Gets anything off.

Clure · 19/03/2010 22:41

dairy free chocolate - Rice Crackle, you can get it in tesco or health shop, in a blue wrapper

also anothe vote for E cloth, they are the best, one quick damp wipe over glass and chrome gets rid of all marks

MamaLazarou · 20/03/2010 10:11

Spotless from JML. It gets all manner of things off, especially burnt-on crusty bits on ovens and burnt. Smells all clean and soapy too. If all else fails, try Spotless!

Fibilou · 24/03/2010 23:22

Lakeland plastics sell a multipurpose cleaning paste called Astonish - it's marvellous

MadameCastafiore · 24/03/2010 23:26
