Red bloody wine urgent

Plse help my Mother has just spilled her glass of res wine on my white leather couch and cream carpet All mopped up but still very visable what can I do to avoid a stain

Personally I would try liquid soda crystals. You can buy it in a spray bottle in Wilkinsons. It's really cheap and has always got anything out of anything in this house. It hasn't got any harmful stuff in it, but seems to lift all manner of stains out. Even old stains.

If it's just happened, sprinkle loads and loads and loads of salt on top. Quickly. It'll draw the moisture up. I have saved a white lace tablecloth by doing this.

Do you have any nappies in the house? They absorb loads of it before applying stain remover

Don't put salt on it - it sets the stain! salt is used in dyes to set it....

mother emptied tub on it will hoover it off and get soda cyrstals and leather cleaner in the morning DP will freak he banned DD having her bottle in room to protect new carpet at least milk is white

Soda or tonic water pour on to stain or wine blot with loo roll, repeat till carpet clean, loo roll has no colour and carpet is dry.
After years of having a DH who is unable to keep red wine in a glass and trying all the remedies this is second only to the the very expensive professional carpet steamer.
