dull yet important laundry question...

do you wash your clothes:
A - inside out
B - right side out

and do you then iron them:
1 - inside out
2) right side out

this will settle a long standing argument between my sister and myself!

my answer is:
A and then 2 (unless shiny fabric or transfer on etc)

washed whatever way they find themselves into laundry basket except dark jeans which get washed inside out

Everything ironed the right way

YoginiBikini · 17/03/2010 15:38

A for some items, if delicate or new and then 2 unless transfers or decorative

Mners have inane tedious lives

I wash clothes however they are, inside or out, I don't check, I just chuck it all in, so depends how they were taken off, but I do believe the best way to wash clothes is inside out.
I always iron right side out or else it's pointless ironing by the time you've turned them right, they're creased again, no?

SweetGrapes · 17/03/2010 16:17

A or B - whichever way they were chucked in. Then 2, when I can be bothered to...

thisisnotwhoyouthink · 17/03/2010 16:22

Meh, they just get chucked in.

And i dont iron. At all. DH does a load of shirts on a Sunday and then irons them for the week.

DH said his ONLY complaint with my housework was that I dont iron..I said well in September I will start off the 18yrs of ironing school uniforms, so I will start then and not before!!

(in the interests of wifely duties I did say he could add his shirts to the pile at that stage and I woud do them as well ...actually, ever since we have got together he has ironed, even my work stuff, esp when i was pregnant with DC1, so hmm, maybe HE can do the uniforms... )

ha ha you are all right, we do have tedious lives! However, I am glad to see that my sisters odd inside out ironing is not usual, so thanks for your replies

does it make me even sadder that I am pleased to have sort of 'won' an ironing poll??
