Memory foam mattresses for children

Hi ladies
I have just purchased bunk beds for my daughter and am thinking of getting memory foam mattresses for it. Does anyone know if they are ok for children? Am thinking of getting them because they are thinner than normal mattresses and lighter to shift around. Would appreciate any thoughts.. Thanks

My Ds has had one for a couple of years now. He's 11.7 and he loves it. The only thing you really have to be careful of is getting it wet. Mine had advice saying that it must not be allowed to get wet, so it'd be no good for the occasional bed wetter.

How old are your DCs? I was getting a bed for my DS aged 3 and was warned not to get memory foam because it gets very hot for little ones....

Thanks for the advice ladies. I was going to ensure the mattress had one of those waterproof covers on. My DD is 3 so maybe too young. Do you know if they are heavy to move? One of the attractions with a memory foam mattress is that it might be easier to maneouvre on top bunk but maybe they are not that light?
