Baby vomit on *linen* sofa!! *HELP PLS!*

My 4month old baby was sick on my aunt's expensive linen sofa. She's on holiday at the moment, returning next week. She will hit the roof when she sees the sofa, we tried to get the stain as it happened, but now have a patch!

PLS PLS can someone give me some advice on how best to proceed, or else I may have to buy her a new sofa (and there's no way I can do that!)

Should I try soda crystals maybe?

Oh God, that sounds like the kind of thing that would happen to me.

Linen is pretty tough, a natural fibre and usually colourfast so you should be able to try most things without doing the fabric any damage. I think I'd try washing soda or 1001 foam first.

You do need to do something quickly though because vomit contains stomach acid which can damage the fibres, so at the very least soak the fabric in water.

As a last resort, there are plenty of professional upholstery cleaners in the phonebook. Better than buying a new sofa!

try warmed white vinegar; it will neutralise the smell if nothing else!

vanish carpet and upholstery ceaner gets red wine out, so should cope with baby sick. Test on a hidden area first though
