Just dropped hot pink nail varnish onto the Landlords lovely 'biscuit' carpet!! [blush}

I have thrown my nail varnish remover over it and covered it with tea towel!

Please tell me it can come out! Please!

This might sound odd, but after much searching on the internet I found that mosquito repellant (DEET super-powered stuff, I got mine from superdrug) gets nail varnish out of fabric. I sprayed it and then used a toothbrush to rub at it and blotted it off until it was all gone. This was red nail varnish on my lovely new dress, but I can't see why it wouldn't work on carpet. It leaves a greasy mark, which I then got out with vanish. Nail varnish remover just doesn't work for some reason.

Ooh, I have googled and apparently a shaving cream called Barbasol may work, I do not even know if it needs to be barbasol, or if I can even get it.

flip, you just reminded me with the shaving cream.
I bought a really cheap tesco (purple girls berry smelling one) shaving gel and my kids sprayed it all over the door and woodwork in my bathroom. It must've been on there a while because it lifted the paint off!! Gloss was just peeling away.
So maybe just any old shaving gel/foam will do.
I was a bit worried about using it after seeing that!

Thanks Coolbeans, sorry to hear about your paintwork, but it does give me hope!

The only problem now is that I have to wait until after work tomorrow to get some foam.
