Mould and damp in intergrated fridge

I have an intergrated Zanussi fridge/freezer. The freezer is ok, but the fridge is crap. It is regularly damp inside which means that it often gets mouldy. Any food which is at the back of the fridge gets soggy.

There's a little green plastic hooky thing inside the fridge, at the back, which I can pull and wibble around a bit, but it doesn't serve any other obvious purpose. Because it is integrated the only access I have to the fridge, as far as I can tell, is by opening the fridge.

It may be obvious from my post that I am not very technically-minded so any one-syllabled advice would be much appreciated

look at the back - possibly near the green plastic hook thing - is there a hole of any kind? if there is stick an earbud in and twiddle it about abit. you will probably find lots of nasty looking black gunk comes out. we had the same problem with our fridge, this seems to be the run out hole for any water (no idea where it runs to).

Thanks Nancy. Yes, the green plastic thing comes out of a little hole, which is indeed rather mouldy and horrible. I've scrubbed around it so it's less unhygenic-looking, but it doesn't seem to have helped with the underlying problem.

get an earbud, ir some other sort if stick with abit of toilet roll wrapped round it and wiggle it in the hole

you have to push it in quite far
