Colour catchers ??????

I've just seen an advert for those colour catcher thingies that you put in the wash. Has anyone ever used them and do they actually work? I can't see how putting one in with a red and a white shirt would work!
Thanks

yes, IME they work

you may need to use 2 sheets if you have a new, highly coloured item

I have used them and they do seem to work.=, and I have out then in with a mixed wash on several occasions.

They sound fab, I'm going to have to invest in some of them!!! I can see me cutting my washing loads by half if I can just bung it all in together!

They often stock them in Home and Bargain/discount shops, they are quite good but a bit ££ from supermarket - I use them for the first couple of washes of new things and they seem to work quite well.

I'm never sure whether they're actually needed but they do come out of my machine a different colour to the white they went in - I tend to save them for loads where I have a new item I'm not sure of as I figure I've managed for long enough without winding up with all my clothes pink, and we have enough washing that sorting doesn't create extra loads.

The only problem I've found is that sometimes they seem to manage to escape down the drain and clog it up - after having to empty it manually twice in a month I've taken to putting them in laundry bags...

They definitely do catch a degree of colour as they stain to the colour they have "caught". I still wouldn't risk putting colours in with whites with a colour catcher though.
