Getting rid of iron marks?

TruthSweet · 03/03/2010 08:30

I bought some grey pinafores for my DD off ebay and when they arrived the fronts are shiny from ironing without a cloth!

They were a bargain at 99p each so I can't be bothered to get into it with the seller but I would like to try to make them wearable!

Any tips?

you iron with a cloth????? i knew you were crazy... lol

no advice i'm afraid

I'll have you know I haven't picked up an iron since 2005 (unless you count packing/unpacking it when we moved house in 2006 . I am slovenly/crazy but I do know if you can be arsed to iron polyester you use a tea towel over the top!

quite frankly i am shocked you haven't bought her 100% organic cotton picked by fairies in iceland, ones at vast expense!
poor poor dd1!

TruthSweet · 03/03/2010 22:08

Well the other two get hand me downs so she might as well get in on the action!

Plus the fairies were on strike over working conditions and pixies just don't do the quality needle work I've come to expect from organic-fairies-r-us

hehe. i've just made a pact to only buy used stuff for the rest of the year actually. save money and more eco-friendly!

I love charity shops & nearly new sales - the only problem with NNS is DD1 is now too big for the clothes that are normally on sale and with 3 dds I have all the clothes they need.

ooh there is a NNS in southwater on the 22nd i think, might be worth a look.

do you ever go to the NCT sale in haywards heath? i've had some fab stuff from there before, lots of boden going! lol

TruthSweet · 04/03/2010 21:51

Ooh Boden! I went NNS in Broadbridge Heath and it was full of nasty, dirty crap that the rich people of thought poor people would want. I mean if you are poor enough to buy second hand you'd not turn your nose up at a 80's hand crank swing with a car seat cover on it or poo stained bedding would you?
