Have googled but no joy. Is it worth looking at the end page?

That's what I thought - or get the Dr Who Shaker Maker set

Check these out too much like hard work

Do one in a loaf tin (and don't bother standing it up?)

FabIsDoingPrettyWell · 02/03/2010 14:15

I really can't be bothered to make a cake but I expect MIL would do it.

I wouldn't bother doing a standing up one. Rectangular cake, or a loaf tin, ice with blue icing. Big fat marshmallow on the top for the light. Maybe white chocolate squares from a Milky Bar) or buttons for the windows? Do the Police Box sign using one of those writing icing pens.

Then hope the blue icing would distract everyone from the rest of it!

FabIsDoingPrettyWell · 02/03/2010 14:30

Sounds great.

Wouldn't care but he has a bloody tardis in the garden.

I did one for an exbf years ago - he was real Dr Who nut. I made a cake in a loaf tin , cut off the bottome so I could stand it up and stuck it with icing to a cake board.
Covered in blue icing and iced on the windows, doors, signs.. with icing writing pens. Then I coloured sugar with food colour and covered the board in it (it sticks down with some runnish icing all over the board).
I put on some plastic figures and made soem rocks out of grey icing and it looked fab...

Hope that helps.

Googled and found this.

FabIsDoingPrettyWell · 02/03/2010 14:44

GGM - that is fab, thank you! Asda wouldn't let me search without registering and the other supermarkets didn't have one. I will take a look later on as I have 3 back up plans if none left. Thanks again .

But the question is, will it be bigger on the inside than the outside?

GreatGooglyMoogly · 02/03/2010 17:09

No problem - good luck!

FabIsDoingPrettyWell · 02/03/2010 17:34

DH is questioning if they still do it as he said the article was from 2008.

tardis cake for inspiration (for MIL)

I have always wanted to do one - it looks quite easy (although tall thin cakes means careful recipe selection/layering)
