So I've finally worked out what my ideal laundry basket is...

but of course it doesn't exist!

What I thought would be great for decanting laundry from hamper to washing machine, and machine to hanging out etc is something similar to the collapsible mesh kind of shopping baskets they have in Mothercare and Debenhams. But apart from shoplifting some has anyone got any ideas where I could get some?

I'm sure I've seen pop-up washing baskets (if that's what you mean) in Wilkinson's.

primark sell pop up washing baskets, they are £1.99

Joolyjoolyjoo · 28/02/2010 22:09

Dammit- I thought you'd discovered one that sorted the clothes itself, then waddled off to the machine, loaded it, switched it on and waited patiently to waddle back up the stairs and hang it all up!

Anyone know where I can get one of them?

MyNewPans · 28/02/2010 22:09

like this?

MmeLindt · 28/02/2010 22:10

I use the Ikea blue bags.

Habbibu · 28/02/2010 22:12

ikea?

JoCoolBeans · 28/02/2010 22:13

A friend of mine uses these baskets for her laundry, she slips them down the side of the washing machine.

you mean the shopping baskets at Mothercare, don't you.

yes, can see what you mean

MyNewPans · 28/02/2010 22:14

this is available

Mistymoo · 28/02/2010 22:18

MmeLindt I use Ikea blue bags too. Light and easy to stuff at the side of the washing machine, tumble dryer or beside main wash bin.

TheHouseofMirth · 01/03/2010 20:44

Bingo!

Thanks for you suggestions.Pop up ones are a pain I think but this is self-collapsing. I'm going to order a couple and see if they work.

Joolyjoolyjoo, I have trained DH to do most of that now. He is available on Thursdays if you're within reasonable traveling distance of SW London?
