My washing machine might be trying to electrocute me

I'm fully aware how weird this sounds, but wondering if anyone has experienced something like it and how you fixed it?

Every once in a while I get this weird feeling when I touch the metal drum inside the washing machine, like I'm getting a low level jolt of electricity. It happens when the power to the machine is on and I'm also touching the edge of the metal sink with my other hand, usually as I'm leaning down to put stuff in the washer. It's not like a static shock.

This is really wrong isn't it?

Man, I sound like a complete loon. I assure you I am not wearing a tin foil hat.

Electrician time.

OMFG

Thank you Lemonmeringue!

Shit shit shit

This is really not good, I seriously can't afford to have the electrics in this house go now

But equally cannot afford to be killed by my sodding washing machine.

FFS, what else can go wrong with this stupid house...I sooooo wish we would have stayed renting!

I'm sorry, it's a bugger. Hope it's not too costly.

Cheers, I've got an electrican coming out tomorrow lunchtime, hoping he will a) be able to fix it quickly, b) won't recommend rewiring the entire house or some such thing, and c) won't rip me off.
