thanks for the thread, swan
just researching this one to one tuition for my interview tomorrow, fingers crossed for me girls! Not sure what they want or how many hours and it is only for 10 weeks but it will be a little extra cash, confidence for me and may go some way to the cost of the new boiler!

Morning all

Right - knee no better and still achy and fluy (is that a word) so not doing much activity today.

DD gone to GPs so day to myself - no school as knee still swollen and gives way randomly (I do hope physio knows whats wrong with it on Saturday as its driving me mad)

To do

  • Online banking done
  • Washing
  • Sign language revision for tonight - Luckily its in the pub across the road again as we aren't allowed in college as first group are having their exams tonight (Mine is next week yikes)
  • Update diary - I know there are lots of appointments I have forgotten to put in so am feeling disorganised
  • Going to try to make some crafty tags for the storage drawers in DD's room to see if we can get some space in the lounge.
  • Find a new book to start to read. Read for 3 hours straight on Monday night and read about 2/3 of my book. I enjoyed it so much I'm going to raid my bookshelf. I have loads to choose from, I am a book addict but rarely get to read them

I think that will keep me busy and keep me off my leg as well.

Be back later for update and personal messages

wendyhappysmile · 24/02/2010 10:29

hope knee better after rest, MC. I am also a book addict. can't stop reading when I start (read 2 or 3 books a week, although I haven't read one for a fortnight - off to raid my shelf too!)

oh, and meant to let you know meeting with head and senco went very well.
Sounds like they will be putting a lot in place for dd3. Have ordered her in a new reading scheme, are going to get their LSA to do detailed assessment of her learning style and advise them on how to proceed. Also the SALTshe will be seeing is according to head excellent and will work lots with dd3 and teahcer,oh and lsa will assess for dyslexia.
They are also going to ask Autsm Outreach teachers for suggestions, although according to head they are not always that helpful!
We are going to meet again in May to discuss results of LSA assessment and SALT assessment and to put together an IEP (individual education plan) for dd.
So hopefully things will start to move forward for her.The head and senco both were really helpful which is good.

Hello everyone and thanks for the thread swan. Sorry I've not been on much recently. I hope you're all okay, though I can see that you're certainly not 100% MC. Get well soon!

I'll be back later. Have a good afternoon all.

dylsmum1998 · 24/02/2010 17:42

Wendy good luck for interview

OFM glad meeting with head went well

hello all others

uick post while waiting for dinner so can find properly later, had a fun day in school, lots of giggles and cleaning of toys a couple of boys tried to flush!!

back with longer post soon

Simply · 24/02/2010 18:02

Hello again all.

Good luck with the interview tomorrow wendy.

OFM The meeting sounds very positive.

I'm tired now and it's probably not surpising as 1. dh is away atm so I'm doing all the after school running around but he is back tomorrow and 2. I've been talking my dog for longer walks than usual and we've been going up hills and I really don't have the stamina I need yet for hills.

Update: I went to a school yest to discuss ds' A Level choices and see the school! Does that make me officially old (in feeling if not in body?)

I'd better whizz around with the hoover. Back later or else tomorrow.

Evening all

Right then you 'orrible lot. I need a list of who's in for an April meet up. I think it will have to be a weekend and so far the only one that isn't do-able is the weekend of the 24th. I know tea and grouchy are definitely up for it and are available but I know others including wendy and I think star were also interested.

So if you are up for a chilled out flygirl meet up and maybe a drinky or two can you let me know your April availability and I will sought summat out.

ruby come, I'm sure we can find a bed (or if it's my place floor) for you.

Simply · 24/02/2010 21:43

Ruby

Wolf What location did you have in mind? I think I'd be okay for any w/e in April so long as it was a Sat night stayover which I guess it would be?

Btw, no-one has said "No, you're not old at all with a ds aged 16 and a dd aged 15" so I'm going to join Ruby in a sulking competition! I think it is called a pwdu (say puhdee but with a soft, breathy puh) in Welsh.

dylsmum1998 · 24/02/2010 22:02

think i'll join thesulking too then (although wouldnt prob make it either never go far without on of dc, am starting to believe tis impossible )

busy day here as usual.

have done
placement
collect ds
filled car with litres and litres of water, did see some pouring out afterwards, so hoping it a leak as opposed to scrapping job!
dinner
wash up
sweep kitchen floor
tidy
s&S bathroom
2 min clean in bedroom
dc to bed
have sat for the past 2 hours browsing school websites and writing GTP applications.

now gonna go and get ready for best, i'm shattered again. always seem to be ridicuously tired lately.

swanriver · 24/02/2010 23:16

Simply you are are younger than springtime and wiser than the hills
Dylsmum I never go far either without someone attached to my leg, one day I think I will just set off with my knapsack and bring back tall tales for my dcs

Wed is OVER thank god, but ds2 is now having day off tomorrow as he banged his head on a football and looks pale, so more malngering dcs tomorrow [sigh]

I am very excited, I have started having singing lessons! Once a fortnight - it is something I have always wanted to do. I think for me all this music is a bit like your sewing, ladies it is so absorbing and feeds the soul. It doesn't matter how good I'm going to be at it, just that it is very satisfying, (sometimes frustrating of course)

OFM that must be such a relief to have them on your side - well done. Ds2 is being quite strange at the moment, fine at home, fine in class, just strange in social situations like playground, and gettng v. upset by other people. His teacher is now worried about him, and I'm having a meeting, so feeling a bit uneasy about it.
Never a day goes past without one child being a WORRY really
