Dear Fly Ladies please help! I washed my daughter's good school polo shirt with a large white name label still on it and now the sticky bit is there and I am hoping somebody knows the best way to get it off. Typically it had to be the good top not the cheap tesco's one and also typically I didn't check for stickers etc as assumed DH had! Also Sod's Law it had to be a sticker that stuck rather than one that fell off within two seconds! TIA

Someone must know

Try soaking in warm white vinegar; if no good warm it up a bit more. good luck

dizzymac · 22/02/2010 10:55

Thank you. I'll try that later on.

I did this with DS2's polo shirt (again, the good logo-ed one) and I regret to say I've had no luck whatsoever in getting it off. Luckily for me his polo is red so it's not as glaringly obvious as it would be on a different colour, but nothing seems to shift it. I'll be very interested in people's suggestions so I can try too!

Am off to try vinegar. Thank you so much for that tip. If that doesn't shift it I guess I will be spending this evening obsessively picking tiny bits off!

Lakeland sell some sticky stuff remover, you can use it on all sorts of things and it lasts ages.

Malkuth · 22/02/2010 12:00

Ooh an excuse to go to Lakeland, excellent! I lust after their toaster/egg poacher thing!

Try freezing and pick off gluey bits, if not use nail varnish remover. I got the tips on MN.

AuntieMaggie · 25/02/2010 18:22

Yes second that sticky stuff remover - i think you can get it in some supermarkets and it's great for stubborn grease marks that don't come out with fairy liquid too!

ilovesprouts · 25/02/2010 18:24

ice cube to freeze it then pick it off

BusyMummyof3 · 25/02/2010 20:21

Spotless Dry Clean Stain Remover. I got mine from a large Tesco.

Swan78 · 28/02/2010 21:54

Thank goodness I'm not the only person to have done this! I'm off to stick the jumper in the freezer now. Thanks
