Morning Starbear thanks for the thread.

Right DD safely deposited at nursery through the yucky Ice. I'd rather have snow than ice. She has received her first party invitation as well so she will be really excited when she comes home as its from her best friend

I'm off to the gym see if I can get some excercising done - Really bad day on the diet front - cos we were in all day due to snow and I was doing uni work I was doing the snacking thing all day - Ate copious amounts of White bread which I never usually buy but had to use corner shop so today I'm feeling really sluggish and yuck.

Then I have to wait in or a parcel - I have had a text to say it will be coming between 12.47 and 13.47 - Bizarre times, Just hope I can make it across town in time.

Can I ask a question of all you with littlies - DD is 4 and her toys are cluttering our living and dining roon - what do you do for storing. Are yours like ours and all over (makes it look untidy) or do you all have something super to hide them away. We are stuck that our house is stone and beams and our furniture is all dark heavy wood to fit in so I can't get lots of plastic boxes like I would like. I'm debating putting most of them away in the drawers in DD's room but is this practical - does anyone do this and do the littlies bring them down and then put them away or am I going to be constantly asked to go and get something for them. not sure what to do.

Anyone best get on - back with a list after gym

I'm off to the gym but.....before I go we have 2 lovely wicker square baskets with lids that I had before Ds & one without lid that has his his wooden train set in (looks okay on display!) . It works for us, very soft lid would not hurt if lid dropped on his fingers or hands unlike the wooden boxes. In bed room have one toy box thing from Ikea and GLTC shelves with baskets underneath. I'm not keen on plastic boxes.

Well I'm feeling a little sorry for myself now after my gym session. Looks like i've got to book as physio to take a look. I've had two trainers look at it today and thats the general consensus more expense and time. We think its linked to my hip problems and the SPD from having DD. We will see.

I also can't stop shaking. Had a boxing class at the gym and was told that I would shake afterwards, I do. I look like I have a drink problem or something and I have to go shopping but daren't. The delivery guy just delivered my parcel and when I went to sign my name I just scribbled circles.

Think I might put my feet up for a while and see if the shaking goes away then get on with jobs

To DO:-

-Washing
-Shopping - just ate the last slice of bread for lunch

  • Sort out living room toys
  • Ring physio and try to fit in an appointment
  • Tidy my bedroom
  • Try to find somewhere for the growing book mountain

Hi All

Having a nice day today. Glad preschool and school is on

Making changes. I would get some plastic storage for the short-term. As the kids get bigger the toys get smaller so you can reduce it but in the short term a few plastic crates in a wooden unit will look better than toys all over the floor.
Ikea and Argos do decent, cheap stuff.

Jas · 22/02/2010 13:23

Sorry to crash on you.....does Galen still post on here? Has she namechanged?

I'm looking for her to give her a book-club nudge if anyone knows where I can find her. Thanks

EVye · 22/02/2010 13:36

Hey Jas - dont just post and run. How've you been? I've been awol for a while but trying to get back into flylady.

Jas · 22/02/2010 13:48

Hi - I should be able to be on here more in theory, but dp is working odd hours and my computer died so I have to use dds, and I just don't get on much any more.

I still have a basic routine going, and the 15 mins thing keeps the whole place ticking over, but that is my FLYing limit for now.

DS is going to be 4 this week so I am party planning. If dp starts more regular daytime work, I WILL come back and catch up properly though. How are you?

EVye · 22/02/2010 13:49

I'm ok. Will contact you later on fb so we can have a proper catch up...

Jas · 22/02/2010 15:43

I'll try and get on there this evening then.

Starbear · 22/02/2010 16:26

Hi Jas, I think Galen is OFM now, someone else will confirm Or she will.
Right rain plus snow here now very cold.
Not looking forward to the future of hanging around hospitals with Mum. Not her fault, its just a waste of time. 3 hours doing nothing! She might need an eye op they will confirm soon. She also has problems with her feet & right hand
I had 15 mins to spare before going out and tidied my undies draw. Why am I keeping knickers that are too small to uncomfortable? Also old bras and tights all in the bin now (I don't thing a charity would want them Te he!)
Didn't go to the gym wasted to much time on here and would have been late for MUM.
Now going to throw out rubbish make ds tea and make pasta sauce for another day

evening all

Mini has had a really nasty virus and now me and Mr Mad are suffering too - at least he shares.

Half term was lovley, It was so nice to have a week to myself and the boys and no mother. She will be getting back tomorrow, so we will pop and see her after I take the boys for a hair cut on wednesday.

Managed to get a home blessing done today and will be back with you ladies propper this week.

swanriver · 22/02/2010 19:41

Star sorry about your mum - also with builders in you need to abandon hope of garden looking nice for a while..your heart will be broken otherwise (on the other hand a small bunker at end of garden might be useful tohide in)

My best piece of advice for having work done in house is - put half of your possessions in storage - then the dust won't annoy you so much it IS worth it

TM sorry about virus - we all feel a bit coldy too, think is post-halfterm slump

Today has been hectic in a nice sort of way (house is a mess though - covered in suitcases), dh stayed at home to potter, no jobs of any kind done, but we went out to lunch to a new Turkish restaurant, and with his help I've managed to get a bit of ds's space project done without feeling v agitated, although I couldn't stop myself screaming with rage when ds1 wrote that planets RESOLVE instead of REVOLVE, across the front of the shoebox
which I had lovingly painted.
Celestial glitter everywhere.
Starbear I love that youtube Dawn French thingy, especially when she hides the Cocopops at beginning (saw it a while ago, am I imagining that bit?)

Also done: slow cook supper, powerwalk, vaguely kept to diet, dh has done dts homework
need to go off again and walk to Cubs now to pick up as there is such a bad traffic jam not worth taking car.

MC storage - large wicker baskets always look nice in a living room, pound shop also has pop up HSM boxes and such like wth lids that dd enjoys putting things away in. Dcs want to be where you are, so you can't really avoid SOME toys in living areas. I think girls require enormous numbers of miniature sized drawers to keep Sylvanians, hairslides, feltips in or it all becomes unbearable and no-one can find anything and just keep buying buying buying more and more.

Yuck - I'm feeling shocking! Managed to get some jobs done this afternoon but feeling gradually more achy and shivery as the day goes on. DH comes home and appears he feels the same so a night doing nothing on the cards.

I'm due in school for the rest of the week so going to have an early night after a little bit more reading while DH is watching football and hope I wake up better than I feel now.

Star those are the issues I imagined with private rentals. so what to do for the best. If I finish early enough this week will phone and harass housing again. I'm so fed up neighbours are out shouting in the hall again just disturbed dd. I CAN'T live here for another couple of years

MC due to space issues in the bedroom toys are in living room. i have some faux leather stacking boxes with some in and recently bought a storage unit from ikea and they sold strong cloth boxes which fit in it. looks much better than the plastic boxes. hope your shakes have passed

Jas good to 'see' you

TM glad you had good half term, hope virus passes quickly

our last day of half term today we went sightseeing up in London. didn't see any guards but dc were more interested in Tower Bridge once we got to that bit. they want to go up and see it when it opens. must search online in a bit to see when it opens and try and take them to see. we had such fun didn't get n til 6- had been planning on being home by teatime as school tomorrow
