Help - fridge that freezes food

We have a fridge freezer, about 9 years old. Its recently been producing a layer of frost on the back wall of the fridge, freezing food placed at the back of the fridge and in the salad compartments at the bottom of the fridge, have turned temp down to no avail. Do you reckon its time for a new fridge? Any advice greatly appreciated

Probably.

Sounds daft but have you switched it off, left it a few minutes and switched it back on? We have a snazzy ff that at the time I thought was a great idea and every so often it freezes food at the bottom of the fridge and just switching it on and off seems to reset it.

Although doing this to an ancient one in a rented house as a student did make it go boom
