Evening all. Everyone must be making good use of the last day of the hols (weekends aren't hols)

Well had a really great day. McDonalds treat with DD and I managed to only have a little bit so as not to spoil my healthy eating attempt too much. 3 tram rides and the theatre. I could tell that DD was apprehensive at going to the theatre as she was really quite on the way there then sat on my knee (as did most her age) but she did get into the performance, until she knew it was nearlt time for the dragon. By the end she was up singing and dancing so a success I think. Then I have treated her to a couple of new books and finished sticking the feathers to the parrots and hopefully she is going to have an early night.

I've got loads of housework to catch up on after not doing anything yesterday and being out most of day and I know DH won't be happy if he comes home to the house as it is now so I'm going to have a blast of that when DD goes to bed then its off to dance class in the morning.

Hope everyone is having a lovely day. Best go and supervise

BBL

Sorry I am new... what's FLY?

wendyhappysmile · 19/02/2010 18:57

Hi all
I am back from hols! Looks like everyone is out having fun today!
Changes sounds like you've had a really super day with DD today. Must do more stuff like that with mine.
silverdogflower hi - FLY is FLYLADY - a system for organising your house which sounds horrible but actually it works. We are just a bunch of lovely people who chat most days and keep each other sane - we do post our to do lists etc and link to Flylady website.
link here
star film sounds good
Right well meant to be getting ready to go out to a 16th birthday party . Just finishing unpacking. heating still not working too well. think it's time for an upgrade to the sytem and a downgrade to our savings
Anyway we had a SUPER holiday - can you tell it was great?! Missed you all lots though.
BB tomorrow

Hi silverdogflower FLY is a method oftackling household tasks and life in general following the general ideas of FLY lady see here
This thread is sort of a support thread for those of us trying to follow some of those principals, or indeed for anyone to get some support or to help organise themselves to cope with the never ending housework etc...
Feel free to hang out here for a bit...everyone's very friendly, and often we just moan about whatever or offer a shoulder to cry on etc...

evening all

GO thanks for thread

MC what show did you watch?

Wendy glad you had a good holiday

OFM hope you have your wine now

have been to london today, we went to the science museum and had loads of fun in the energy bit. have been told we need to use train more "because its bad for the world mummy" whilt looking at the co2 stuff they have for the children
we then went up to Buckingham Palace- never been there before had a look at the guards- i thought that was where the guards in red with big back hats were dc were disapointed to discover its not so promised we woudl go back on monday to where they are so we can see them
quick tidy and hoover, washed breakfast dishes and now getting ready for bed. off to go seal searching with ds tomorrow, dd is off to her dads. we getting the train as my car is not right this week it kept overheating the other day and we only went 4 or 5 miles. must get that checked out next week.

Makingchanges · 19/02/2010 22:07

Dyls I thought that was were the 'guards in the red with big black hats' were too - Aren't they?. We went to watch 'Room on the broom' at the Lyceum in Sheffield. I made the mistake of taking DD to watch Beauty and the Beast there a few months ago and she was scared and we had to leave - I think she is still scarred from that. She was hiding behind her coat at the beginning looking like she was going to burst into tears at any minute but ones it got going she was fine until she knew the dragon was coming up. This was for pre-schoolers though, so the dragon was funny more than scary.

Well I have found some minature green and black chocolate and some cans of lager (proper lady me) so am on mumsnet whilst watching confessions of a shopaholic (big sophie Kinsella Fan) and ruining my diet. I have done a complete overhaul of the kitchen and read 4 bedtime stories tonight though.

BB tomorrow

dylsmum1998 · 19/02/2010 22:16

MC no i phoned fil (used to work as security in London so knows it pretty well) as i had to rather disappointed children after the long walk there, apparently they are at tower bridge.
I saw room on the broom advertised but we didnt get to go there too- half terms need to be longer .

am sat here trying to keep myself awake to watch the replay of eastenders- i got the times wrong and didnt realise til it was half way through, didnt want to switch on then. have however discovered who did it- the joys of facebook! shush people i not watched it yet LOL
