Try a fabric shop or market near you - most have vinyl table covering. If you want it to be heatproof too then you'll need heat protector to go underneath, but the same places will sell it.

ok not found any fabric shops near us just moved but will have hunt round when can get out was hoping find online.

Am looking forward to have a proper grown up table and just do not want kids making a mess

John Lewis
GLTC

They will be £££ but it can be online ...

MarthaFarquhar · 18/02/2010 18:25

just wipe

Corriewatcher · 18/02/2010 18:38

I would second Just Wipe. Have bought two tablecloths from them and have recommended them to friends. They took quite a while to deliver to me - about 2-3 weeks - but they had nice patterns and reasonable prices.

CantSleepWontSleep · 18/02/2010 19:16

Oh yes it's nice to have a good selection of designs online. Will bookmark that site.

As a price comparison, I bought some red spotty stuff from the market last weekend for £4 per metre, which was much cheaper than I'd paid for some previously in a local fabric warehouse (which I normally think is good value for money).

If you have a 'The Range' store nearby they do these cut off a big roll to the size you need at reasonable prices. I used to use them when I was a childminder.

MaggieW · 20/02/2010 10:10

You'll find a good selection on Ebay too, and good prices.

CantSleepWontSleep · 20/02/2010 19:37

Should add that hobbycraft sell a selection of designs too (although not as extensive as just wipe).

onlyjoinedforoffers · 20/02/2010 19:48

Cath Kidston do some lovely oilcloths expensive but they last for years

fatzak · 20/02/2010 20:01

Dunhelm mill have some good oil cloths too.

WynkenBlynkenandNod · 21/02/2010 09:28

I am gutted about my just wipe table cloth. DS spilt paint (childrens stuff) and it won't clean off with anything. I'll be going for the cheap stuff in Dunelm in future then if accident happens I won't feel so bad about chucking it

Phoenix4725 · 21/02/2010 19:38

thank you , have orderd a couple am looking forward to finally havinf a proper table no more eating on knees

Dunelm sell the plastic tablecloth by the metre - some designs are at only £2.99 as I recall, and they've got some funky, retro designs.

HerbWoman · 21/02/2010 20:43

Dunelm also sell clear plastic so you could put an ordinary tablecloth underneath if you couldn't find a pattern you liked. I've used it on top of a cabinet with a fish tank on top.
