Whats best to kill bugs/germs, bleach or anti-bac spray?

The dd's and i have had a nasty bug, i really don't want dh to catch it as he has a very important few days at work, dd2 has thrown up all over the sitting room, luckily mostly on the laminate floor. I am slightly OCD about germs spreading as i have a phobia of sickness (which is not great after the week i have had). So whats the best way to keep the bug at bay from DH?

Afaik, bleach.

Anti-bacterials don't kill viruses and it is probably viral.

Tbh, hot soapy water will do most of the work.

Also, incubation for puke bugs is about 4 days max, so not too long till you can breath a sigh of relief!

thanks nicky- i think if dh was going to get it he would have by now as dd1 and i started on Sat (almost 5 days ago), luckily dd1 stayed in her room so i could contain it but dd2 is wondering around the sitting room and throwing up over the TV cabinet, sofa and floor (THANK GOD OUR SOFA HAS REMOVABLE COVERS).

Ooh, it's grim, isn't it?

I spent last weekend chucking up in a basin.

Somehow dh and ds (aged 3) didn't get it!

Its my worst night-mare, i am sh*t scared of being sick and being around people who are sick , Dh is working a lot this week so i am coping by myself (which i thought i could never do). Luckily dd2 started this morning when her stomach was empty so she's only chucking up fluids so a lot easier to clean up.

I'm waiting for my Tesco delivery which will contain bleach and soap .

Well done for coping.

I am not quite emetephobic, but come pretty close. I get quite panicky when I am sick or when someone around me is.
It is really hard being ill and looking after kids.
Hope the worst is nearly over now.

it all sounds horrid but i hope you're not going to use bleach on your laminate flooring!! i don't think it would survive!! Try white vinegar mixed in with warm water of course. It is good for neutralising any bad smells and of course killing germs as does tea tree oil mixed with water, plain old soap and water also kills germs.

Don't let the adverts influence you otherwise (if there were no bugs there would be no world!!!)
