HELP!! Nail Varnish spilt on carpet.!

How do i get it out??

This happened to me once on cream/white carpet and I used nail polish remover. However it wasn't very much, I would use with caution though and I can't remember if I let the nail polish dry first or not. sorry not being very useful but hopefully will bump
What colour is your carpet and how much has been spilt in what sort colour?
