It's Saturday - and it is not yet spring yet

OP posts:
swanriver · 13/02/2010 11:04

two yets - make a yeti, which is how I feel this morning, cold, cross and mismatched

Kind dh is taking dcs out for a long walk and pizza as he's not going to see us next week at all..
Morning has been good so far, the kids have been dancing in pjs, but it does take forever for them to get their clothes on

Still feel all over the place - don't feel I can settle till kids leave the building.
Today's plan is

Go to Tip with Rubbish - which is piled up in hall/garden/porch, missed recycling collection on Wed due to rushing off swimming
buy one ingredient on way home to make supper with

Morning all Yep! Spring has not sprung yet Swan Lovely DH giving you some time to do stuff will leave you a little freer in the week.
We had our Valentines last night pepper steaks and a snog Of course I had to make it happen! In return he has offered me lunch in the pub while the rugby's on. What a romantic!!!! But I brought a roast lamb I suppose we can have that mid-week and I can enjoy no cooking! I hate the disappointment of valentines every year. NEXT year I think I'll arrange a girl's day out with my single Mum friends and romance them with cake and chocolates at least they would appriciate the effort! Back in a mo with weekend to do.
I have completed CRB form yippe this morning and letter to head for permssion for DS to have a day off school.

Starbear · 13/02/2010 11:54

Okay.
Recycling bin
Unload W/M into dryer
re load W/M
make banana cake with old bananas
Look for Holiday insurance
Still haven't done apple cake might do both!!!!!!!
Think of something DH can buy me for Valentines (to make up for the rugby) Maybe a new iron!!!

grouchyoscar · 13/02/2010 12:55

grouchyoscar · 13/02/2010 16:26

Got my bum into gear and

Made bed
Emptied DW and reloaded
Put stuff away
Empty WM and sort for drying
Take up and hang up
Bring down drying washing and load TD and run
Get showered and dressed
Pick up bits from the supermarket

and I bump into Wolf DP and DS. That was just so lovely. Thanks for the lift home guys x

Just writen my 1st forum post in rusty 20yr old schoolgirl French Ah well, I tried my very best.

DH listening to football and Ed on the PS3 so I am surplus to requirements and have slunk off to read. (yes, one of those recommendations Wolf I will get it out of my system )

scattyspice · 13/02/2010 16:52

Hi .

wolf thats the big problem with bridesmaids, choosing a style/colour that suits them all. Bound to be pricy. We cheated and didn't have bridesmaids.

swan hope you feel better for your brief afternoon of peace. Shame dh is away at 1/2 term.

star we aren't big on valentines day, we managed a card each and I picked up a box of roses at Lidl to share (when dc in bed).

grouchy how funny to bump into wolf.

ofm I can only cope with town early in the morning. Hate crowded shops.

I have inexplicably developed a heavy cold . Took dc into town early for 1st swimming lesson but was a month early .
Took them to H+M instead to choose a t shirt each and some bits and peices. Had a mother daughter moment with dd over a pair of party shoes, I would have bought them for her (even though vile) but they just wouldn't stay on her club foot (ballet pump style), managed to negotiate her to a pair of purple sequined baseball boots instead . I suspect the shoe thing is going to become more of an issue as she grows up (unless I can steer her towards grunge/rock chick ).

To do
tea
clear up
laundry
watch Aliens in the Attic with DC.

Dh home about midnight.

Starbear · 13/02/2010 17:34

Hello It sound like we are having a lazy afternoon.
grouchy Boys are watchin rugby and bonding
Scatty Rock chick is good I have flat feet so can't do anything else but skater girl 'Converse' at 40 it's not a good-- look I don't care. DM's and a tartan skirt is a good look too.
Scatty I'm with you and OFM Saturday afternoon shops yukky!
We have just watched 'Chicken Run' eating popcorn and jam sponge pudding yum! I haven't baked anything
Have come to a lovely agreement with DH Winter & Summer activities. Winter Gymnastic & Rugby. Summer Hill Walking & cycling Both happy now.
Pub lunch with Rugby table booked for tomrrow
have a lovely evening

dylsmum1998 · 13/02/2010 18:40

star thata alovely idea for your single mum friends- shame about lack of romance ffrom dh tho

Scatty at the eagerness for swimming lessons

have taken dd to ballet, few tears as she went in after she skipped down the road excitedly chattering about going to do her ballet she joined in again and came out all smiles and excitement saying its fun. so i suspect its just the beginning where she leaves me which is the issue. so i have booked her in for the next half term in the hope it improves, i spoke to the lady who runs the class and said quite a few do start like that as its new/new people etc and assured me she is fine once she gets started. which i do know because i stand and watch the whole lesson through the little window. will see how things go next term

ds to his swimming lesson then off to his dads.

met friends and took dd to see the new princess and frog film, which she loved so sweet watching the three of them dancing at the end lol

home and have;
cleaned out fish tank
sorted out menu for next week
made shopping list
taken 1/2 the recycling to recycling bank will carry the rest up tomorrow
unloaded washer
reloaded washer
finished clearing out the airing cupboard.
begun sorting out the bottom of my wardrobe- have a big bag of old bags to take to charity shops

to do tonight
tidy up dd's barbie dolls with her help
wash up
tidy kitchen
showers
iron?
unload washer

off to make a start on that

Wolfcub · 13/02/2010 18:42

grouchy you're welcome. DS was very pleased that he got to see you and I have had to explain the snow patrol obsession to dp who is a music=philistine

done
been to M&S to get meal for 2 for tomorrow
went for lunch (my valentines treat to family dp bought the m&s meal)
looked in local suit outlets for potential wedding outfit to dp - no joy
went to supermarket and ran into grouchy
Came home and watched night at the museum 2
put drier on

will go an make onion tart when dp has vacated the kitchen

ofm I hate shopping on a weekend. The world his wife and his dog always seem to be there

swanriver · 13/02/2010 19:13

Scatty I had/ve very large feet so never got to wear anything exciting when young, dd has v. high arch and most styles don't quite fit her - esp boots - anyway we survive she always looks v. stylish imo

Star Valentines is a marketing ploy, means nothing in the affection stakes.

Dyls that sounds alovely ballet class, to be able to see them but they not see you, pefect balance. Dd used to play up because I was there.

Wolf what colour will the dresses be? what is your theme?

Grouchy I definitely get obsessions too, it's lovely isn't it all the best people get them

OFM I feel exactly like you today, except irritable too Just shouted at dh for helping unload dishwasher [he was in my way], and feel in a complete state of tension over ds1's mangy Space project. Why have I booked to go on holiday, BY MYSELF with my kids at the gloomiest time of year? What possessed me? Optimism?

Anyway car is loaded again with rubbish, managed to get everything manky, mouldy or rusty out of garden, although it nearly killed me. But dump as usual was closed earlier than I recollected . Brief foray into supermarket on way home, so that was something.

dcs have eaten supper, and I've cleared it
pie mixture for tomorrow lunch simmering

bb in better mood tomorrow

OP posts:
Wolfcub · 13/02/2010 20:06

swan not sure what colour. In my head I had though green or purple but to be honest it will depend on what's affordable, not very romantic I know but I am about as romantic as a brick anyway!

Theme, hmm don't have one!

have also been sorting through a BIG box full of dc drawings some of them being ds's first pics i bought a scrap book earlier to put them all in- think i am gonna need some more. i am going to recycle some as there are hundreds of peices of paper painted blue and all looking identical but have kept a variety of diff pics through the ages . also found ds's first school report and lots of his school books from when he started school so having a VERY nostalgic evening

grouchyoscar · 14/02/2010 10:21

Swan Obsessions are brill and those are a fine set of lads to have an obsession about. (As they are all younger than me, I can call them lads ) Nice to feel it's the sign of a best sort of person

Wolf Tell DP it was under medical orders. My MS nurse told me I needed something to look forwards to so combine obsession and a professional go ahead and....poor Gary doesn't stand a chance.

Any hoo, spent last night watching the Olympics and drinking scotch. I'm a little slow this morning I'm now planning a series of fun stuff to do with Ed for the 1/2 term, swimming and a wildlife park, pub lunch or two, maybe a trip to SIL's coffee shop.

How's this one...Ed's dyspraxia make it difficult with fine motor skills, eg writing, yet we have a chinese and he was using chopsticks like a natural Just add food huh

Hello, Right DH watched 'Driving Aphrodite' with me as his romantic gift. So all is well in the Bear household.
Dyls IF you go on the council websit they will have the times. We have the residents permit on the inside door of the glove compartment. Too yukky a job to get wrong. Lovely looking over the past. In my school report I'm shy, well that's out the window now.
RR 'Prison Bread' I don't understand the title???! if its too rude don't tell me I'm still an 80's girl of Electric Blue (very mild porn) you did mean porn or have I just embarrassed myself!!!!!
Right onward and upward.
DH has cut his finger very badly so I need to upgrade our first Aid kit. They are at church now.
Okay
Beds made
Kitchen tidy

To do
Go to the gym
Shopping for bits
Then in between going to the pub the following has to be done.
Rubbish out
Recycling out
Brush floor in dining room
fold clothes
dry more clothes and fold
Prepare pack lunch for tomorrow & stuff to take.
have a lovely day.

Starbear · 14/02/2010 10:38

I am at everyones valentines day efforts. Am feeling like i should have made more effort now.

Am full of cold and spent most of the night in dds bed with her as she had a nightmare. Dh stiff as old nick after his mountaineering trip yesterday. Dh and DC have gone to ils (I have wimped out due to illness), going to read the paper in peace. .

GO lol at Ed using chopsticks. I def think ds 'learning difficulty' only applies at school.

Star I love debenams .

ruby Also want to know what you do with the bread (can you used sliced? ).

DS has declared that Aliens in the Attick is the best film he's ever seen! He didn't bat an eyelid at all the alien blood and guts but found the concept of people wearing dentures gross .

Going to pull the blinds to hide the dust and read the paper now.

dylsmum1998 · 14/02/2010 13:11

OP posts:
Wolfcub · 14/02/2010 16:31

afternoon all

more fruitless wedding shopping. I have rembered why we stopped going to leeds after ds was born - none of the shops have lifts and they always have 3 flights of stairs and the stuff you want is always at the top/bottom of them . I spent a lot of time sat/stood with ds whilst dp shopped.

swanriver · 14/02/2010 22:00

Well today has been a bit annoying really, everyone in a bad mood, fractious temperamental...
and the dcs have been tiresome too
think we all need lots of fresh fresh air

Which is good, because I'm now glad to be off!
Bags all packed and repacked, clothes laid out for tomorrow, money, books, mobile charging,

just need to put more money in mobile
get passports
have bath
go to bed
book cab to airport for 9.00
cancel milk? ask dh to do it
